November 14, 2002 - New York, NY - The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and SmartPros Ltd., a leader in continuing professional education since 1981, today announced an agreement to distribute an AICPA-enhanced version of SmartPros' continuing professional education (CPE) programs designed for accountants in both public practice and industry.

CPAs can now access a fully integrated online learning library of SmartPros' courseware, through www.cpa2biz.com/stores/AICPAPRO as well as www.smartpros.com/apr. SmartPros' "CPA Report" has been adapted to create an online CPE subscription program titled "AICPA Practice Pro" for CPAs in public practice. A second program, "AICPA Financial Pro" tailored to CPAs in business and industry, can be found only through the CPA2Biz Web site.

While SmartPros will continue to provide its audience with a full range of industry-leading education products, the AICPA and SmartPros will offer these new products with content that is specifically targeted to AICPA member needs.

These new online learning tools have now been integrated into the same online learning platform that houses AICPA InfoBytes. Now CPAs can rely on one central source for all of their online learning needs. CPE credits, courses in progress, and certificates of completion can be tracked in one central location for ease of use.
