John Wiley & Sons and KeepSmart Expand New Online CPA Review Offerings
NEW YORK - June 2, 2000 - John Wiley & Sons, Inc., the publisher of the Wiley CPA Examination Review by Professor Patrick Delaney of NIU (Northern Illinois University) partnered in late January 2000 with KeepSmart to launch a dot.com for accounting students who wanted to study for the CPA exam online. Billed by KeepSmart founder, Dr. William Grollman, as "the new CPA exam review for the Net generation", Wiley Virtual CPA Exam Review (www.wileyvirtual.com) combined the traditional and well-known Delaney review program with state-of-the-art Internet learning technology.
An online demo is available at www.wileyvirtual.com and features:
- Top-quality content from the Delaney CPA Examination Review self-study program, which has been published by Wiley in print for over 27 years;
- Full-motion video or slide-show lectures, plus high-quality graphics and study aids;
- Practice exams with hundreds of multiple choice questions; and
- User-friendly features such as "hot links" to relevant Web sites and built-in calculator and printing functions.
In May, Wiley Virtual.com expanded it offerings to include a 6-month unlimited-access subscription option to its introductory 1-year unlimited-access subscription and now allows CPA candidates to sign up for either the complete exam, or for any of the four individual parts.
Wiley Virtual.com becomes more interactive·
As the program enters its fifth month, Wiley and KeepSmart have expanded the user-focused and interactive features of Wiley Virtual CPA Exam Review at www.wileyvirtual.com to include:
- A free motivational and how-to video by Professor Debra Hopkins of Northern Illinois University on the best ways to make taking the CPA exam stress-free and organized. Professor Hopkins is a national and international speaker on CPA exam preparation and a long-time colleague to Dr. Patrick Delaney
- A question-and-answer discussion forum lead by Professor Duane Lambert of California State University
- In July 2000, Wiley Virtual.com will go even further to add a diagnostic test function, a user performance scorecard, customizable sample exams based on the most recent AICPA-released questions and a hot-linked glossary of key accounting terms, phrases and ratios.
Of the Wiley Virtual CPA Exam Review, Robert Chiarelli, Publisher of the John Wiley & Sons Professional Accounting program, said "Wiley strives to help accounting professionals do their jobs successfully. Wiley College publishes the leading college textbooks in the profession, for example the Kieso and Weygandt classic accounting texts. Now, after having worked with Patrick Delaney for decades on the Wiley CPA Examination Review books, software, and audio, we're proud to expand Wiley's presence and to bring Professor Delaney's top-notch review program to the Web."
Dr. William Grollman, President and CEO of KeepSmart, and former professor of accounting at the Fordham University Graduate Business School, calls Wiley Virtual.com "a program that uses the latest Internet technology to offer students the interactivity of a live classroom experience, with a program that lets them study anywhere they want, any time they want."
