Many of SmartPros' alliance agreements with professional societies and businesses assign SmartPros the exclusive right to develop electronic courses sponsored and branded by those partners (e.g., American Society of Civil Engineers, Financial Executives International). American Society of Civil Engineers - Founded in 1852, the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) represents more than 120,000 civil engineers worldwide, and is America's oldest national engineering society. ASCE advances professional knowledge and improves the practice of civil engineering. Through its alliance with ASCE, SmartPros is the society's sole electronic course provider for both technical courses offering Professional Development Hours (PDHs) and preparation courses for the Civil Engineering Professional Engineer (PE) Exam. The alliance calls for SmartPros to develop the electronic courses, to work with ASCE to brand the courses with the society logo, and to co-market the courses with ASCE to its members.

Association of Government Accountants - Since 1950, the Association of Government Accountants has been - and remains today - the educational organization dedicated to the enhancement of public financial management. AGA serves the professional interests of financial managers, from local, state and federal governments, as well as public accounting firms, responsible for effectively using billions of dollars and other monetary resources every day.

Aspen Publishers - Founded over 40 years ago, Aspen Publishers, Inc., serves the information needs of today's legal and business professionals. Financial Executives International - The Financial Executives International (FEI) represents 14,000 senior financial executives from over 8,000 corporations throughout the United States and Canada. The Financial Executives International exclusively sponsors both the Financial Management Network (FMN) and FMN Online. Financial Executives International's Web site features a mirrored FMN Online CPE Center for the Financial Executives International's members. SmartPros alliance agreement with FEI has been ongoing since 1988. The current alliance agreement calls for SmartPros to develop the FMN video programming, while co-marketing the programming with FEI to its membership. SmartPros also has a similar sponsorship contract with FEI for FMN Online

The Institute of Internal Auditors - Established in 1941, The IIA serves approximately 90,000 members in internal auditing, governance and internal control, IT audit, education, and security worldwide. The world's leader in certification, education, research, and technological guidance for the profession, The Institute serves as the profession's watchdog and resource on significant auditing issues around the globe.

Institute of Management Accountants - The Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) is the leading professional organization devoted exclusively to management accounting and financial management. IMA's 55,000 members include controllers, corporate accountants, and financial managers. IMA sponsors the Financial Management Network (FMN) and the alliance agreement has been in effect since January 1987. The alliance agreement calls for SmartPros to fund the development of the FMN video programming and then co-market the programming with IMA to its membership. IMA gives FMN Online the exclusive right to be listed on IMA's dues renewal statement, so that IMA members can renew their dues and subscribe to FMN Online at the same time. Additionally, the IMA also promotes a co-branded Professional Education Center to its members through SmartPros' Association Reseller Program.

National Society of Professional Engineers and American Consulting Engineers Council (Alliance for Continuing Education for Engineers) - SmartPros Ltd. developed an exclusive alliance agreement with the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) and the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC). This resulted in the creation of the Alliance for Continuing Education for Engineers (ACE2). ACE2 develops quality online continuing education courses for engineering professionals in both technical and non-technical areas. The ACE2 courses present timely topics and information from nationally recognized experts and are available over the Internet to provide maximum flexibility in scheduling and location. These courses primarily target the 60,000 members of NSPE and the 5,800 member firms of ACEC that employ more than 300,000 professionals. The ACE2 agreement calls for SmartPros to develop the electronic courses, and to brand and co-market the courses with ACEC and NSPE to the societies' members.

URS Greiner Woodward Clyde - URS Greiner Woodward Clyde (URS) is one of the largest engineering firms in the U.S. with over 15,000 employees. In March 2000, SmartPros and URS formed a partnership to co-develop an 80-module online project management series. URS is providing the content, subject matter expertise, and beta test site. SmartPros is providing the course development expertise. The series will be marketed through the engineering societies and through SmartPros' sales force. URS also will use the modules to train its own employees. SmartPros and URS also are discussing the co-development of an online regulatory safety series using the same model as that used for the project management series.
